What is it?

DataQs is FMCSA's system to request a review of an inspection or violation you believe is wrong. Before filing, we review your inspection report and tell you whether it's worth challenging and what proof you need. There's no guarantee it will be removed: the state agency that did the inspection decides.

Who needs it?

  • Companies with an inspection or violation they believe is wrong
  • Anyone whose citation was dismissed in court but the violation still shows
  • It can be requested up to 3 years after the inspection

How we do it

  1. Send us the inspection report and tell us what happened.
  2. We check the violation against the rules and your proof.
  3. We tell you whether it's worth challenging and what's missing. If you decide to file, you only pay the difference.
