What is it?
IRP gives you apportioned plates to drive in all member states with a single registration. In Texas it's handled through TxFleet. A new account includes 1 truck; each extra truck adds $50. Plate fees (TxDMV) are separate.
Who needs it?
- Trucks over 26,000 lbs or with 3+ axles operating across state lines
- Companies that don't have an IRP account yet
How we do it
- You fill out the form and upload your documents.
- We review the information and confirm your total.
- We file it and send you the confirmation.

Before paying you see the full summary with official fees. You pay online by card, securely.
What happens if it's not up to date?
- Fines, and you can be stopped if you cross into another state without apportioned plates.
- You'd have to buy a trip permit in every state.
When you may not need it
- You only drive within Texas (you use regular Texas plates)
- Your truck weighs 26,000 lbs or less and has 2 axles
