Connecticut permit (Highway Use Fee)
We register your Connecticut Highway Use Fee permit, for trucks of 26,000 lbs or more.
What is it?
Some states charge their own per-mile tax on heavy trucks, apart from IFTA: New Mexico (over 26,000 lbs), Kentucky (over 59,999 lbs), New York (over 18,000 lbs), Connecticut (26,000 lbs or more) and Oregon (over 26,000 lbs). Which ones you need depends on your route, your truck's weight and your operation. Without the permit you can be fined. Each state has its own reporting rules and dates: Kentucky requires a report every quarter even with zero miles, New York assigns your filing frequency, and Oregon can be monthly or quarterly. We review which ones apply to you.
Who needs it?
- Trucks leaving Texas west (New Mexico, Oregon) or east (Kentucky, New York, Connecticut)
- If you only pass through once, the trip permit is the better fit
How we do it
- Tell us which states you go to and your trucks' details.
- We open your account on each state's official portal (never third-party sites).
- We send you the permits or decals.
