What is it?

If FMCSA revoked your MC authority (usually because your insurance or BOC-3 was cancelled), it can be reinstated without getting a new MC. FMCSA charges $80 for reinstatement.

Who needs it?

  • Companies with a revoked or inactive MC that want to operate again
  • Anyone who got an FMCSA letter saying their authority will be revoked

How we do it

  1. We check why your authority was revoked.
  2. We confirm your insurance and BOC-3 are on file with FMCSA.
  3. We file the reinstatement request and pay the FMCSA fee.
  4. We let you know when your MC is active again.

Check to reinstate your MC

FMCSA only reinstates the MC if the USDOT is active with up-to-date details, and the insurance and BOC-3 are on file. We check it with your USDOT:
  • Enter your USDOT above to check it.
Add what's missing to your order:
We don't sell insurance: if it's missing, ask your insurance agent to file the BMC-91X with FMCSA.

Documents

Have ready: USDOT number

PDF, photos, Word or Excel. Up to 10 files, 10 MB each. You can take a photo with your phone. If you don't have them now, we'll ask later.

What happens if it's not up to date?

  • With a revoked MC you can't haul others' freight for pay across state lines.
  • Operating that way can get you placed out of service and fined.
  • If you wait too long, sometimes a new MC is the only option ($300 instead of $80).
